Future Mr. Right

Okay, here he is ladies! Future Mr. Right! (well not till he is at least 25). Luke got this shirt from mommy for Christmas. His daddy got him a shirt that says, "my dad is stronger than your dad" I'll have to post pics of him wearing that whenever he puts it on. I just thought these were too cute!
Well, tonight, Brandon and I were able to go on a date for the first time in a long time. Just the TWO of us! We havent been on a date since Luke was born, well actually a week before. Sept. 16 to be exact. It was really nice...we went to dinner and then just walked around Target. I know...maybe boring for some...but nice for us! Of course we talked about Luke most of the time...hahah. Our good friends Chris and Jenina watched him for us, well mainly Jenina because Chris still had to work. But we were able to take them out for coffee afterwards which was really nice. Luke had a good time with Jenina, he Loves pretty girls. teehee. Thanks for watching him for us! we really appreciate it. even if it was for only a couple of hours. we needed that.
Well, tomorrow is another busy day for us....its the Mayo Christmas. That is always fun...well, off for now. Have to go feed Luke one more time before he goes down for the night. have a great weekend!

What a great Christmas!

Well, Luke had a GREAT first Christmas! He saw lots of family and got lots of neat new things that we are excited about him being able to play with soon. The first picture at the top is him on Christmas morning at our house. Brandon got him that cute red hat. the next one is at Sarah's mom's house Christmas Day. That is Sarah, Luke's Grammy and of course...Luke. the next one is Daddy and Luke. Then there is Luke with his second cousin Brea who is only 9 days older than him! They are sooo cute together. and finally the last picture is of Luke sitting in his exersaucer that Grandma and Grandpa Mayo got him. He was kinda tired in that picture, we had to wake him up to sit him in it. Overall we have a very blessed Christmas and really enjoyed all the time we got to spend with all of our family.
We are amazed at all the new things that Luke has been doing lately. He has started this thing now that if you are holding him and either feeding him or putting him down for a nap he will look at you and just talk and talk. It is sooo cute to hear his little coos and sounds. Its like he just has to get out whatever he wants to say...but when he has said all he wanted he will start to fuss so you either put the bottle back in or the paci. He did that for the first time last Friday night to me, and I just sat and cried! it was so sweet to hear his little voice...it was like he had all that bottled up in him for the past three months and wanted to let his mama know what was going on! He is such a sweet boy.

the magic age

I guess three months really is the magic age because last night Luke slept all the way through!! from about 900pm (then up at 1130pm for one last feeding) until 815 this am!! my goodness....i got up several times to check on him to make sure he was okay because he hadnt woken up. Brandon did have to get up and change him around 5 am...but that was IT!! i cant believe it. we were even able to finally go to morning service at our church. Just wanted to share the good news...

The pics are of Luke and Sarah with cousin Jon and Luke with great granny and papa...He did pretty well today...only fussy a little bit, but everyone really enjoyed seeing him and of course...we enjoyed seeing everybody too. He turned three months today! man how time flies. we cant believe that tomorrow is Christmas Eve already! we are so excited to be able to take time to remember the real meaning behind Christmas... Jesus...and start sharing Him with our son. we hope everyone has a great time with their families over the holidays.

Back from the Doctor

This is a pic we took the other day of Luke in the little hat and mittens Jenina and Chris got for him for Christmas...i just thought it was too cute.

Well, we went to the doctor today for his three month check. Luke weighed in at 11 pounds 8 ounces...just shy of doubling his birth weight! he also is 23 and half inches long! tall for his corrected age of 2 months...they will continue to chart his percentiles at his corrected age until he catches up the nurse said. So...he is in the 75% percentile for height, 50% for weight, and 25% for his head circum. He is getting bigger everyday!

Christmas is coming up and we are getting very excited to celebrate this year with our new little family. This time last year we had no idea we would have a baby in 2006, but are so thankful we do! God has really blessed us with Luke!!

Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas!!

Three months

Luke will be three months old this Saturday. I can't believe how time flies....It seems like yesterday we found out we were pregnant and now...we have a handsome mister man!
He goes to the doctor tomorrow for his three month check up. we will see how much he weighs then. I am guessing his is over 11 pounds now. Three weeks ago he weighed in at 10 pounds 4 ounces. If he reaches up to 11 pounds 12 ounces than he will have doubled his birthweight! I know that people still say he is soo tiny, but to us....he's getting soo big!

The other day we attempted to try cereal for the first time. I know the drs say to wait until they are four months, but i thought he might be ready. He did okay...we sat him in his bumbo chair and he liked the taste of it. He just couldnt figure out how to eat it. it was so cute...you could just tell he was getting frustrated because he couldnt eat it like he would a bottle. Needless to say, i think i will wait a little while longer before we try it again.
