YELLOW!!
These are a couple of pictures of Luke's new favorite toys to play with. He is really getting good at picking out the orange and yellow blocks. And when he finds the color we want he yells "AAAAH!! ellow!!" Now, I like to think he is really saying yellow, but it really and truely sounds so much like aaaah! that who really knows.....
and here is one just cause that "cheese" face is soooooooooo hilarious!

Easter and 18 months!
Easter Sunday our little man turned 18 months old. So I decided to combine Easter and his 18 month bday in one post. :) We went to the doctor today for his 18 month well check up and he weighed in at 22lbs 9 oz and was 31.5 inches tall. I can't believe how much he has grown in 1.5 years!
Birth-5lbs 14oz 19.25 inches
6 months- 15lbs 1oz 25.25 inches
12months 19lbs 10oz 29.75 inches
18months- 22lbs 9oz 31.5 inches
at 18 months Luke...
*RUNS everywhere! He is always so busy and never wants to take a break to rest. He would rather just go, go, go!
*Says a few words, including, mama, mom, dada, yeah, um, hello, hi, here, ga ga, awww, aahh!, and numnum (candy) (he mostly just jibber jabbers all day and we can't understand him most of the time) but he can really influctuate his voice!
*loves to look at books. His favorite's right now are "First Words", "8 Silly Monkey's", and pop-up books.
*is starting to get more and more into puzzles and actually getting the pieces where they go.
*has figured out how to sit in his little fold up chairs all by himself.
*likes to color and attempt to write his name "sometimes he will even say "L" as he is writing like he is spelling it out for us)
*LOVES to DANCE DANCE DANCE! This kid has always loved dancing, but he is learning and making up some more new moves almost every week. (There will be a separate post soon on all his sweet dance skills)
*is really getting into balls and is pretty good at kicking around the soccer ball with dad. He loves to play catch...but with him, it's more of "throw and chase" :)
*still really loves to talk on the phone. which this consists of him holding his hand up to his head back behind his ear and "talking" really really loud! sometimes he laughs really hard (like someone on the other line said something really funny) and he says "oh yeah" really serious. It is absolutely the funniest thing we have seen him do yet!
nicknames we call him these days are, mister, bub, bubba, little man, Lukie, Lukie D, sweet boy
now...on to the pictures!!!
Here he is on Easter morning on the prowl for his basket, apparently the Easter Bunny left a trail of eggs to it. He loved it.

Can I just say what a STUD!
checking out his loot from the Easter egg hunt

Luke and Brea playing with some eggs. Brea is my cousin's youngest who is only 9 days older than Luke. We were trying to get them to pose like they did last year, but of course 2 18 month olds are definetly different than 2 7 month olds! Click HERE to see last year's pictures. WOW! they have changed so much...that was about the time Luke was going through his "chubby" phase awwwww!!

On an Easter Egg hung at Grandma and Grandpa's house. He LOVED hunting eggs.
um...can we just say WAY to much sugar at this point?? he was being so silly.

We hope you all had a wonderful Easter weekend celebrating the fact that our Savior LIVES!
Also I MUST add that the Brownsburg Bulldogs WON!!! on Saturday night against Marion. It was a packed house and probably one of the most exciting games we have EVER seen. The Dogs won by ONE point. My cousin Austin Fish made the pass with 2.1 seconds in the game to Gordon Hayward who shot..and scored! It was so awesome. I'm sure you may have seen them play it on the news a few times this weekend. CONGRATS TO AUSTIN AND THE REST OF THE BULLDOGS! Thanks for an exciting game!

Go BULLDOGS
My cousin, Austin, is playing in the state championship game this next weekend. His team, the Brownsburg Bulldogs beat the undefeated (but now defeated) New Albany Bulldogs last weekend in one of the most exciting high school basketball games I've been to in a long time. Make sure you cheer the Bulldogs onto victory Saturday night!
Here is Luke cheering him on at the regional game

the news crews that were there! it was crazy!

growing up so fast
We went outside the other day to play, and I really began to realize that we have an 18 month old...a 1.5 year old! He has gotten so big...and I couldn't even tell you when that happened! He looks so much like a little man in these pictures.

And this one I had to throw in because lately he has been into picking out his own socks.... and apparently those are the ones he wanted to sleep in.
We also want to say congratulations to our friends Jason and Missy on the birth of their new little girl Megan! We can't wait to meet you Megan!!

quick update...
Just wanted to let you all know of a new link on the side under our friends. My sister, Emily, is heading out to Mexico in May for a really neat experience. She will be going to school there and doing some really cool activities, like spending some time at a school there helping out with students. She will be there there for about a month and is really excited to go. She is in the process of trying to find sponsors, so if you feel like you want to...anyone can give! :) but you don't have to either. just had to put a plug in for my lil sis :) It's there in case you ever want to check out her happenings!!
http://tomexicowithlove.blogspot.com/ ( i will also be updating her blog with a picture or 2 also)
(and yes, I will update with more pics of little man later. he has been pretty sick this week so it was hard to find time to update b/c he was so clingy...and HUNGRY! LOL from the steriods he is on. Contrary to all belief it take me a while to update the site! :) I will though..promise)

Gymboree Fun!
Since January we have been taking classes at the Avon Gymboree location. Luke's friend's Isaac and Ava have been going there too and got us started. Luke loves it! Mommy loves it too because it helps Luke to get a LOT of energy out. We are sad though, because the Avon location is closing and next week is our last week with our friends. We are going to try out the Greenwood location for a while and see how the drive is.
Here is Luke enjoying Gymboree!!

with his teacher

Helping Isaac and Ava push the big ball over the edge! that was fun!

Jumping with his buddy Isaac

and enjoying bubbles with Miss Ava!

We really enjoy hanging out with Isaac and his mommy, Ginger, and Ava and her mommy Christin, and sister Emerson. It is so much fun. It's so hard to believe that all our kids met when Luke was not quite 3 months, Ava was 5 months, and Isaac 6 months. Click HERE, HERE and HERE to see some early pics of the kiddos together. Time sure flies! We are so glad Luke has some good buddies to hang out with!

best sound in the world
When we were pregnant, we used to love going to the doctors appointments to hear Luke's heartbeat. I remember our doctor would let us listen to it for awhile, while everyone was really quiet. That was the best sound in the whole wide world. The "woosh woosh wooshing" that was so great...
Now...I must say....this is by far the best sound...
this kid cracks us up :)

Hey all! We hope you enjoyed the really nice weather we had this past weekend. Luke sure did. He went outside a lot and loved every minute of it. Anytime he heard a sound, he would stop and point to where he heard it and make his *gasping* face.

It was so neat to see him explore everything. Last year he couldn't get around like he does now, so everything is so new and exciting for him.

It was so nice to be able to go OUT side and enjoy all the sounds and smells of God's creation. This weekend was a huge teaser for Spring.
Luke is also really getting into books more and more. He loves to be read to and to dig down into the bottom of his book bin to get all his books out and open them all up. He will even try to read a book to you too.

(as a teacher :)and a mom) I am so happy that my son loves books. They are such a great way to expand on your imagination and learn so many things. I hope he always enjoys reading.
He is really loving his airplane rocker too. My mom gave this to us and we never thought Luke would like it. But he has sure proved us wrong! And he can really get that thing rocking too!

He has also found my pots and pans......

Life is good here at our house!
