Hey everybody!

I feel like its been awhile since I last posted! So there are a lot of pictures on this one. Luke has been such a happy baby the past couple of days. I mean he is always pretty good, but yesterday he was so great! He was all smiles! He is however cutting his first couple of teeth...and today he was a little cranky during nap times and when he ate from his bottle. I think his little gums are hurting and he doesnt quite know how to handle it yet. His fingers are constantly in his mouth and he drools everywhere. I try to give him teethers or something else to chew one, but hes not too interested in anything other than his fingers. I hope those teeth pop up soon so he feels better for a little while before he cuts more teeth! they are getting closer to the surface now and its easier to see where they are. They are his two front bottom teeth.

Shaylee and Luke are best friends. Every now and then I will catch shaylee sitting with Luke. Kinda like she is watching over him to make sure he is okay. and he just stares at her. She will also walk over and just give him kisses...pretty much anywhere, but mostly on the face. He just blinks his eyes and lets her. its really quite cute!

This is Luke after his bath. He absolutely loves bath time! he just kicks and kicks at his rubber duckies and sucks on his fingers the whole time!

Here is Luke tasting green beans for the first time. He had carrots and green beans for dinner that night! He likes those too. Will there be anything he doesnt like?? Squash is next!

Here is Luke on Saturday night with Grandma and Grandpa. Brandon and i went to a "ball" and had a great time. We had a wonderful dinner and there was a silent auction and a life auction. We didnt bid on anything, but it was kinda neat to see it all. It was at the Indiana Roof Ballroom. That place is gorgeous, i had never been there before. Brandon however did inform me that he was made "Prom King" there at his Senior Prom. While we were gone, we found out that grandma and grandpa got a hold of our camera and took some cute pics!
We are going away this weekend for our first "trip" with Luke. We are going to Brown county with our good friends from church. We did this last year at this time and it was sooo much fun. We are definetly looking forward to it again. I will get lots of pics and post them when we get back! have a great rest of the week!

Look how I've grown!

I know I already posted a pic of him in his Bumbo chair in the last post. But I wanted to compare him when he was about 2 and half months old when he first sat in his chair to now. He just looks so much bigger! and more like a little boy instead of a baby.

Luke at 2 and half months.

Luke at 4 months. His expressions sure haven't changed, except for the fact he has more of them now!! hahaha....he still sooo stinkin cute...well thats just my opinion...i am his mommy. heehee....

We had his four month pics taken at JC Penny's today...he didnt do too well. He cried most of the time, but we were able to get some cute shots. Including some of just diaper shots and one bare bottom shot. Very cute. Comparing those to his two month pics, he has changed so much. I cant believe how much my little boy has grown.

Beyond Measure

"The fog has finally cleared to see, the beautiful life you've given me.
To feel the breeze of my newborn's gentle breath.
With one to walk hand in hand, to share this life that you have planned.
It's like a storybook with dreams that are meant to see.
Every next step's an extraordinary scene.

I know that I've been given even more than beyond measure, I come alive when I see beyond my fears. I know that i've been given more than earthly treasure, I come alive when I've broken down and given You control.

Everything that I have has been given so unselfishly and shown that even when I dont deserve You always show the fullness of Your love."

Brandon and I were listening to one of our favorite artists last night, Jeremy Camp. I have always known that Brandon and I are so blessed to have what we do, but this song puts it all in perspective. God has truely given us so much and we never want to take it for granted and I think that sometimes that can happen so easily. We are going to have to really trust in Him to get us through these next few months because our house will be up for sale as of today. We have bought a house in Brownsburg as an investment opportunity and close on that sometime in Feb. We will be making a few changes to that and then putting that one on the market too. If this house sells first, then we will move into the Brownsburg home. If the Brownsburg home sells first, we will stay here and keep this one on the market and look for a new home. If they sell at the same time...well....we will look for a home we can move into right away. So many things can happen, but we are trusting that God has a plan and knows where we will end up.

Luke is now four months old!! yes...four months old. I cant believe it! We went to the doctor yesterday and weighed in at 13lbs and 3 oz, 25 inches long, and a head circ. of 16 inches! whoo hoo! he's getting so big! He really likes the new doctor we are seeing now, he just sits and stares at him and all the decorations in the office. its so much more fun to take him to the doctor now. He didnt however, like his shots. Poor guy got all five done at once yesterday. 2 in each leg and then an oral one. (he just sucked that one like he would tylenol) I have to say, watching your baby boy get shots is not a fun experience. He just looks at you like, "WHY??" after about the third one, i think i was starting to get tears in my eyes! poor little mister man!!! He's doing good now though. He's on tylenol and doing great. he woke up all smiles this morning after a FULL nights rest of 11 hours!! yes...he never woke up once!! we didnt have to get up and flip him over in the middle of the night....he slept on his belly all night long! yay! I know that he has giggled a few times before at me and at Grammy, but yesterday for the first time, he laughed out loud at Brandon! Twice! it was the sweetest sound in the whole wide world. At least we know he can laugh now...haha..i think he would just rather smile and talk right now than laugh....

He also had carrots today for lunch...yummy...he LOVED them...man this kid can eat!

Brandon and I are going to a "Ball" this weekend. We have to get dressed up and everything, it says "Black Tie Optional". This will be nice to get out of "mom" clothes and go out on a date. I'll try to get pics and post them. have a great day!

GO COLTS!

The Colt's are heading for the Superbowl!! how neat. We went over to our friends house last night to watch the game. It was soo much fun! We got Luke's picture taken with his friends Josh and Sarah in all their Colt's gear. They looked so cute! That game was so exciting and we were all jumping and yelling....and we woke up the kids too....oops. Now we cant wait to watch the superbowl!

Sunday was baby day at church. We were only able to get one picture of us standing up there, but i got one picture of Luke sleeping after we got home. That outfit looks big as he lays there, but it was all 3-6 months. He had such a long morning and he wasnt quite feeling like himself. Well, ends up he didnt sleep well at all last night and we had to suction out his nose like three to four times because he couldnt breathe. poor little guy. He has a little bit of a cold.

Luke goes to the doctor on Wednesday for his four month check up and shots. I cant believe its been four months!! Time has just flown by and its hard to remember where it went. He's getting so big and I will be so curious to know how much he weighs now and how tall he is. he's getting heavier and heavier to hold...which is what he wants all the time. to be held...while doing everything...playing, eating, watching TV. hes so silly. I know i told you all he rolled over a few weeks ago, but he hasnt done it since. guess it wasnt to thrilling for him. he almost rolled over back to belly on Saturday afternoon, he just needs to learn to get a little motion as he stretches to the side..and he will go right over. He's smiling so much more and is such a happy little guy. It is so much fun staying home with him everyday!

I love Oatmeal!

Okay so we have tried oatmeal now and Luke loves it. I am going to the store to get him some fruit to put into it too.

These are pics from the other day of Brandon feeding him. He loves when daddy feeds him. (i think these are still rice cereal....??)Okay...I promise i wont post anymore cereal pics for a while....

Today we had our Mommy and Me class again. I really liked it in the beginning because it was mainly babies. (Luke has always been the youngest by a couple of months) but now because they dont have enough people for both the baby and me and the toddler time classes, they have combined them. So Luke has play time with kids that are 2 years older than him plus the other two babies that are in there too. its just kinda hard to really enjoy time with him singing the songs and playing when the teacher has to accomodate for all the different ages. dont get me wrong, she's really good at spreading her time with the babies and the toddlers, but i paid for 45-60 minutes of time, not half. I dont know...we will see how it goes. maybe it will continue to grow and we can split the classes up again. its good for us to get out and get to know other moms in the area. (other than the ones we already know of course...)

this weekend is a big weekend! its baby dedication day at church. Sunday at the 10:30 am service there will be a time for all the parents to come forward and dedicate their child to the Lord. I will post pics.

Well, hope you all have a wonderful rest of the week!

Sunday, January 14

yum yum!

Here are some pictures from Luke eating his cereal this morning. He absolutely LOVES it! it is so funny to watch him eat it. Once you get a bite into his mouth he starts to fuss because he immediatly wants another bite and i cant get it to him fast enough! sometimes in between bites i have to give him his paci just to keep him quite so i can get another spoonfull. but usually once he gets going he can calm himself down by shoving his hands in his mouth...then the cereal is everywhere. In his eye, nose, and even on his eyebrows. I dont know how it gets in some of them places it does. One time he got it really close to his nose and then breathed in real hard because he was getting frustrated that i wasnt giving him it fast enough, that he sniffed up a little cereal! hahaha....Plus he looks so tiny sitting in that big highchair!! Tomorrow we are going to start Oatmeal cereal...so we will see how it likes that.

He has been doing this thing now that if we bend over and say "Luke, can mommy (or daddy) have a kiss?" then he will open his mouth and stick his tongue out! it is soo funny. I will see if i can get a picture of him doing it and post it. its hilarious.

Hope every has had a great weekend...we have and brandon is off tomorrow too (MLK jr day) so another three day weekend...thats always nice. talk to you all soon!

A friend to play with

My friend Emily came over with her five week old baby, Aiden Christian, this week. At five weeks he already weighs 9lbs 6oz!! Luke weighed 9lbs 11oz at his two month check!! haha....It was good to see her and Aiden. I hadnt seen them since Aiden was about a week old. Its amazing how much he has changed since then. I guess Luke has changed a lot too, we just dont notice it like everyone else because we see him everyday. well, just wanted to share...luke has another friend!

Monday, January 8

just wanted to share....

I had mentioned that my best friend from High School, Kate, was coming over on Sunday to meet Luke for the first time. Well, it was soo much fun to see her and catch up. She's the kind of friend that you can go without seeing for a long time (sometimes in our case up to a year) but you seem to always pick up right where you left off. Like you had never been apart. I am sooo glad she was able to hang out with us for little bit. She loved Luke and of course Luke loved her. He loves pretty girls.....

Here is Luke playing in the jump n go swing we got as a shower gift. He couldnt quite figure out what to do with it. It was quite hilarious.

Here is Luke playing with the toys he got for Christmas from his Grandma and Grandpa Mayo (top) and Grammy and Grandpa Jeff (bottom) He LOVES them!! thanks guys...now if only i could remember what we did before we had these??
I have another friend from college coming by tomorrow. she had a baby Dec 4, a little boy, Aiden Christian. So it will be neat to see him and Luke together. I'll try to get some pics. Hope everyone has a wonderful day tomorrow!

Luke's firsts....

Well, Luke has experienced a few firsts this past weekend. On Friday evening he rolled over for the first time!! He went belly to back...it was soo cute. Of course we got really excited and started to yell....and shaylee got excited too and Luke just looked at us like, "you guys are crazy!" Then on Saturday night, he had his first bowl of cereal...and he ate almost ALL of it!! ( I know i said he tried it before..but now i think he is really ready for it) however, according to the drs directions he has get cereal in his bottle for a few days to help thicken up his poo...(see prev post) and then after that, he will be on it all the time! yea!! he really likes it...He has also started to reach out for a few things. He especially likes to give Daddy a high five. He also reaches out for some of his favorite toys too.
Today, Luke is going to meet Sarah's friend Kaitlin (Kate) for the first time!! she is my best friend from high school and wasnt able to be around for Luke's birth and the past three months because of some family issues. So today she is coming over to play! yea! I cant wait to see her..i havent seen her since Aug 12, the date of my family baby shower...she came to that with me. It should be fun to see her and catch up. Plus, Luke likes pretty girls anyway....hahaha...

BIG BOY

I just thought this pics were too cute. The ones of him sleeping, i had walked in to check on him and he he moved to have his head covered. He sleeps just like Brandon does. Well, Luke went back to the doctor today, not for shots or anything, but for a check up. He had mucus in his bowls this morning so the dr wanted to see him. (which we switched drs and i absolutely LOVE the new one!!) he said it was nothing big really and that we just need to watch his stools. He said to give him rice in a bottle for a few days to help his bowels thicken up. so we'll see what the next few days holds. He is doing realy well....he's all smiles and talks ALL the time. just an all around happy baby. At the dr today he weighed 12 pounds 5 ounces!! our son is now officially bigger than a bowling bowl!! hahaha.
He is awake more and more now....which is getting fun because he plays more. and he is eating more at each feeding. I think here in the next week or so, we will begin cereal! yea! i cant believe how time flies....hope everyone is having a good week!

Happy New Year!!

Happy New year!! the first picture was taken on Jan 1 at like 12 30 am. He looks kinda grumpy in that picture...like "thanks for waking me up mom and dad!!" We had a lot of fun Sunday night, we ended up going to dinner with our friends Chris and Jenina and then they came over here and we played games and watched Dick Clark's countdown. it was a good time. The other pics were taken at the Mayo Christmas on Saturday. Looking at those pics really shows how much Luke has grown! He looks like a little man! so cute. well, we pray God's blessings on your families for the next new year!! can you believe its already 2007???
