Fun!

Here is Luke and Daddy finding a new way to use the ball hut. It is now a fort to watch Veggie Tales in! so much fun!Smile Luke! I have a feeling that most of our pictures are going to look like this for a while....he is always cheesing whever he sees the camera now. It's so silly!
Yes, still cheesing...this time while laying on daddy!
um...still cheesing! HA!
Now that is one great fort. He only laid there for a few seconds though. heehee
Last Sunday we had lunch over at Grandma and Grandpa's house. It was such a nice day that day that we all went outside for a little bit and had some fun! Luke LOVES riding on grandpa's BIG four wheeler.
We also took over his little four wheeler too so he could go straight forever on their blacktop. He is really getting good at driving this now.
Here is Luke and Uncle Dustin trying to ride on the tire swing. Luke loves to play with Uncle Dustin!
Hope you all stayed safe last night with that storm and all that wind! We stayed warm over here! Have a good Wednesday!

a weekend fit for a Big BOY!

We went to Bounce World in Noblesville for Luke's 2nd cousin's bday party this evening. He loves to play in bounce houses and thought this was the coolest place ever! He was screaming with excitement and bouncing in the houses and going down all the slides...by himself!

Getting ready to go down the slide... Alexus playing with Luke and Brea (who is 9 days older than Luke)
getting up from going down the slide
Here he goes!!
Saying cheese while in the car. We took the head rest out of his carseat and raised his seatbelt harness...(another big boy step!)

Thinking he is actually doing something on the computer.

Sitting in his big boy chair at the table while eating a snack. Our little boy is growing up! and we are loving every minute of it.

we officially have a big boy now

Brandon and I were fully prepared to deal with a screaming and sad little boy last night for an hour or so when we put him to bed. Well, he suprised us! He went to sleep with NO problem without his pacifier. Just went to sleep. Then he did it again when we put him down for his nap this morning. suprise, suprise, Luke was ready to be a big boy! (I will add, that mommy did go in to check to make sure he didn't find a paci stashed in his bed, but he didn't, he was just asleep without one in his mouth, and I will say, I teared up. but just a little.)

sorry no pictures today!

We will miss you...

Oh, you have been a best friend to our son and to us over the past almost 16 months. You have been there to calm fits and take away tears. You make our son very happy and he just smiles and laughs when he sees you right before sleep time. You made mom and dad happy too, because you helped stop some potentially embarrassing moments while in public or with family and friends.

We have gone through several of you, from very small preemie ones at the hospital, to now bigger ones. But Luke never showed favortisim. I am still trying to find all your friends around the house, so that, after tonight, our son can't find you. I'm sorry we must say good bye...but dear dear dear Pacifier, it's time for our son to be a big boy now. We won't forget you!Photobucket

Future "chick magnet"

We were in Walmart yesterday and the young lady at the checkout was ooohing and awwing over Luke. Of course he was relishing in all the attention, when she said "he is going to be a chick magnet some day!" I have had people say "he is cute" or "how handsome" but never chick magnet. I just thought it was too funny not to share.

We, of course, have always thought our son was adorable. This is why we bought him this shirt Christmas of 2006...

But, I thought I would share some pictures of this future "chick magnet" as of today, with all of you. Tell me he is not a stud. :)

Plus, he has some pretty sweet dance moves too...(you're going to have click the link this time..sorry!!!)

How cute is this face?!
Riding his four wheeler and sticking a "strawberry" from his kitchen set in the front. :)
This is how he eats his snack and watches Veggie Tales most nights before he goes to bed. He LOVES sitting in this chair! (see how he has a hold of the lever...every now and then you will here, "choo choo!" coming from the chair...its hilarious.)

We want to also say congratulations to our friends James and Ginger on the birth of their little boy! He is so precious. :)

Another video!

he is quite the character lately..

His newest thing, walking around with his blankie over his head. This is the only video we have gotten so far of it, but its hilarious. He thinks it's so much fun!

big boy now!

Luke can climb up the ladder part of his slide all by himself now. I took him upstairs one day and he just did it, like it was nothing. This is after several days of him doing it. and at first he is trying to get as much of Daddy's attention as he can because it's one of the first times Daddy watched him do it. He is one silly kid.

We also had his 15 month appt on Friday morning. He weighed in at 20lbs 7 oz and was 31 inches long. Still a little peanut! They said he was in the 3rd-5th percentile for his weight. Dr. Duck predicted at his 9 month appt that he would only weigh 20lbs at 15 months. I didn't believe him at first, but he was right on!

We also want to say a BIG CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR FRIENDS THE BUMGARDNERS!!!!!! They had their triplets on Friday afternoon and babies and mommy are doing good. All the praise goes to God for these little babies!! We are so happy for you Jason and Kristy!

Goodbye 2007 and Hello 2008!

Happy 2008 everybody! We hope you all enjoyed a great New Year's Eve celebrating with family and friends. We sure did! Every time the new year comes around it seems like you can't believe its already the new year. And can't help but wonder where the last year went. I have always felt this way, but never more than this year. In 2006 God gave Brandon and I one of the greatest gifts in Luke and when we rang in 2007, we couldn't believe how fast the past 3 months went by and how much he had learned in just three short months. But now that we celebrated with Luke for ALL of 2007, the time seems to have gone by much faster. He has gone from being a little tiny guy at around 12 lbs in January, to a rolling over, sitting up, laughing, crawling, walking, running, marching, and very talkative, sweet, 20lb boy in December. We thank God for all the many blessings he has given us in 2007 and pray that we don't ever take them for granted. We pray special blessings on your family in 2008!! May 2008 bring even more special memories to all of us. :)

Now, fortunately, thanks to my wonderful husband, I am now able to upload more pictures!! We ended up having to get an external hard drive so that all our many many many (and I mean MANY!) pictures can go on there instead of on our PC.
Here are some Christmas pictures! YAY!
Luke on Christmas Day at Grandma and Grandpa Mayo's house. His new sled....(have you EVER seen a sled this small anywhere??)
Sitting by Grandpa and Great-Mamaw "writing" on his magnadoodle.
Playing with Uncle Dustin
I love my Aunt Kayla
Christmas Morning, Santa really did come!
His new vaccuum from Santa. This is the funniest thing I have ever seen him do...and bonus...it really sweeps things up! Thanks Santa!
Snuggling with daddy watching Veggie Tales.

Christmas with Grammy and Grandpa Jeff on Dec. 23
Hanging out with Olivia in his cool new chair and watching more Veggie Tales.
Opening his Veggie Tales from Grammy and Grandpa Jeff, you can't tell from this picture because I just wasn't quick enough, but he seriously kissed and hugged the DVD case. It was hilarious.
Alright! a 4-wheeler!
He loves this chair. Thanks Great-Grandma!

We were so blessed this Christmas with so many neat and cool gifts, but we don't want those to ever take away from the real meaning behind Christmas. Jesus. As much as we want Luke to understand this, he still really loves the gifts. :) We got out the Fisher Price Little People Nativity Set he got last year from my Aunt Denise, and tried to explain it to him. But he was more interested in making the star light up and play the song. He still is only 1. :) and hopefully we are able to teach him that without Jesus, there would be no real reason to celebrate Christmas. We want him to know that it's not about the gifts others give us or ones that we even give other people, but the true GIFT from God. His son, our Savior.
