Christmas Day

Christmas Day was such a great day! Luke woke up to find that Santa did come and he was very excited. I didn't get any picture of him opening his gifts :( but..we got it all on our video camera. I did get a picture of him with his big gift...Santa brought him his very own bounce house!! He was so excited!

After we had some time together as a family in the morning, Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle Dustin, Aunt Kayla, and Cousin Jayden came by for a little bit to see Luke on Christmas since we were spending the whole day over at my mom's house.

Luke and Uncle Dustin in his bounce house....yes that thing takes up our whole dining room!

Around noon we headed over to my mom's house for Christmas with all my cousins and grandma and grandpa. It was so much fun...and so good to see everyone!

My Uncle Bruce, cousin Jenny (due May 27th with her first!), cousin Eric, Aunt Tami, Cousin Ryan and Uncle Doug....whew...that was a lot! but not even half of them! :)

My handsome cousins (and hubby in the background) Adam, Dustin, Josh, and Austin

and then after everyone else left...we had Christmas with my mom, stepdad, sister and her boyfriend. Our family picture! We then put Luke to bed and played some serious Wii. Whoever knew my mom had such sweet skills at tennis!

Visit with Santa

First of all, sorry I have taken so long to post! It has been one busy week here with Christmas party after Christmas party, but we have been truely blessed this holiday season. I'll update you all on everything that happened over Christmas in the next few posts, but here is a one thing we did before Christmas. Visited Santa at the Children's Museum.

Luke has been so excited about Santa this year. We love this age. It really is so neat to excperience Christmas through his eyes now. Everything is new and exciting and so much fun. He was really wanting to sit with Santa, but was scared to do it alone, so mommy had to sit with him. I just hope Santa didn't mind all that weight on his legs!

and then of course there was the Yule Slide that he had to go down....

Twice!

Then he played on the little playground in Santa's area. He had so much fun!

We also got to see the trains (his move favorite thing right now by the way! everything is choo choo!) and the dinosaurs. It was a great day and we had so much fun.

what a little fish!

For the winter, Brandon and I got a membership to our local fitness and aquatic center and we are so glad we did!! The nights seem so much longer now that it gets darker so much earlier, and poor Luke gets bored REAL quick. Which can make for some interesting evenings at our house. But ever since we got this membership, we (well mainly Brandon takes him most times by himself so I can have some alone time) take him at least 2x a week. He has really become quite the little fishy in the water. He definetly still has his reservations, which I am glad he does, but hopefully by the time summer comes he will be swimming like a pro!!

Splashing in the water with dad

Playing basketball

Being brave and pulling the rope...he used to not do this.
He loves it! and it gives us something fun to do as a family...and it's good exercise for me right anyway. I'm so glad we have this literally down the road from us. It helps make our evenings go by faster and it wears him out!

We are soooooo thankful for a beautiful healthy baby boy. Thank you all for your prayers and well wishes. We are just so excited we can't stand it! Luke is going to have a little brother!!!!

Tomorrow is the big day!

Tomorrow morning at 8am is our big ultrasound! We are getting very eager to find out what this little peanut is. It will be neat to find out if Luke is going to have a brother or a sister. My mom, sister, and mother in law are all going with us so they can hear and see it first hand too. I'm excited about that. It will be fun to see all their reactions.

According the poll at the right, looks like girl is the winner so far. with 9-7. But...we will be happy with what ever God has given us. I have no set idea of what it could be....today I am guessing girl...but it changes every day. Brandon wants a boy. Luke, well Luke now says, "baby" for it and has only said one time he wanted a "sissy" when we asked him if he wanted a brother or sister. sooo...we shall see tomorrow!

Please pray for great results and that things look fine. We, of course, first and foremost want a healthy baby. But then, pray this peanut shows us the goods! :) We are very much planners and really want to know what it is so we can be better prepared. If it's a boy...we are pretty much set with boy things. If it's a girl....well....that's a different story! Keep us in your prayers and be ready for an update later tomorrow! thanks all!

Oh Christmas Tree

Last weekend, we got all our Christmas decorations out and put up our tree. It was so much fun this year to see Luke get all excited about everything. He wanted to help with everything......

Getting the ornaments out...

Placing them on the tree...(all the ones he did are on the very bottom! It's so cute!)

Wondering what to do next

"Where do you want this box mom??"

Somewhat of the finished project. I'm still trying to figure out my camera so sorry for the weird shadows...plus we have weird lighting in our living room too. I'll figure it out soon!

relaxing Thanksgiving with family

And relaxing it was!! We had Thanksgiving Day with Brandon's family and it was so nice to eat a really good lunch (and dinner!!) and just enjoy the day together. We basically...didn't do much....but it was GREAT!! Just what we needed...

Brandon and Luke getting ready to ride the 4-wheeler. Luke loves riding this with daddy and his uncles! and Grandpa too of course.

Giving kisses to his "baby" cousin Jayden...guess he thought he needed to get a good grip on him to lay one on him. :)

The boys letting the turkey set in...ahhh....can you tell they are all brothers or what??

Luke and Jayden deciding to take a nap on Uncle Dustin (Jayden's daddy)

Me and my sweet precious little nephew! Man I love that little boy!

Grandma and her boys....but will it be 3 boys on her lap next Thanksgiving??? 8 more days and we will know!!

Thankful for so many things...

Thanksgiving is tomorrow. And while I told Brandon I was heading to bed, I am up here just thinking about all that we really are truely grateful for. Mostly that God blessed us to be parents. But it's not just that we are parents, but we are to one of the sweetest little boys we have ever known.
Luke we are so thankful for your smile and laughter at the simple things in life. The way you always yell your sweet little "yeah!!" whenever something really excites you. We love how sensitive you have become and how much you love to have your time alone with daddy. How you hold your little hand up to your ear and say "hewoh??" and pretend it's a phone. How every night before bed you are very much into your routine of a book, prayer, and song. How you love to have your stuffed "friends" pray with us and then maul them over with kisses afterwards. How you love to dance, at even the littlest bit of music, and how your little body moves with the beat. You are so creative. We are so thankful for each and everyone of your sweet hugs and kisses and love how your little hands fit into ours when we walk somewhere.
You are such an amazing gift to us and to everyone you meet. You light up any room you walk into (but I always knew you would... ) We thank God everyday that He has given us...US!!...the front row to watch you grow into a young man who will do amazing things. You, our son, are what we are most thankful for this Thanksgiving. We love you buddy!

Well, I got a wonderful little Christmas present early this year! A new Digital SLR camera from my mom and stepdad! I LOVE LOVE LOVE it and the pictures are so great. I just have to figure out all the cool stuff it does now. I've only had it since Friday, but have been snapping up a storm. Here are just a couple of ones I took the first day.

Luke waking up from his nap.

and watching his new favorite movie, Cars.

And here are some of our Thanksgiving dinners this past weekend.
Sunday we spent the day over at my mom's house for a wonderful feast of Turkey and all the goodies that goe with it! It was so good mom and we had so much fun.
