The Birthday Bash

Well, Saturday we had Luke's party. He loved it and had a great time. Thank you to everyone who came to celebrate this special day with us. It meant so much to us to have our friends and family surrounding us to celebrate Luke being 2! It was such a beautiful day too...
Here he is today playing with his baseballe machine. He has gotten pretty darn good at it too!

This next ones are from his party (and I just want to say, I am so mad that I don't have more pictures even though I uploaded like 95...HA! I didn't get many of him with us or his family or his friends. I was obsessed with getting it all on video (b/c we got NONE of his FIRST bday on video...who does that?!?!) that I was focused on that...and even screwed that up a little too. geesh...my mind is scattered these days. :)
anyway, on to the pictures....

Opening his presents with Daddy

Trying out his new Harley Davidson ride...and he did not want that bow on there...guess it was too girly.

His cake. It was a Cozy Coupe theme...he LOVES his Little Tikes Cozy Coupe and was very excited when he saw his cake and those itty bitty ones on the top!

Trying to get the candles lit...

blowing them out like a big boy!

That is pretty much all the pictures I got. But I hope you all could enjoy the ones we did take. We are so proud of our little man and the little boy he has become. We love you Lukie!

AND...I will leave you with this.........

This is the shirt he wore at his party...

He's 2!

Last night at 6:28 pm our little man turned 2! Brandon and I had a little party with just the 3 of us. He opened a few gifts (which I failed to get pics of b/c I was worried about getting video) and had some cake and ice cream. He loved it. and everytime you ask him "Luke how old are you?" He attempts to hold up 2 little fingers and then says "three!" well...it might be two...but it comes out sounding like three. He's so funny!
Blowing out his candles

(I wast trying to video AND take pictures...so I got a weird light on my camera..sorry!)

Eating the yummy cake and ice cream...which he really never touched the cake..but devoured his ice cream!

Happy Birthday LUKE! We love you so much and you have blessed our lives in so many ways. Thank you for making us parents!!!!!!!!!

At 2 years old you...

LOVE:
*Firetrucks...and will make a very cute impersonation of a siren everytime you see one
*your new puzzle from mommy and daddy
*riding and playing with your Cozy Coupe (you could probably live in that thing!)
*your "gankie" (blankie)
*wrestling with daddy
*watching the Wiggles, Backyardigans, and now you are starting to like Thomas and Sesame Street
*reading books
*dancing and making up sweet new skills :)
*playing at the park
*helping around the house with anything
*doing your "chore" of recycling our cans (taking them from the kitchen to the garage and putting them in the trash can)
*popcicles

DISLIKES:
*bugs (most of the time...especially when Daddy tries to scare you with one!)
*being told no (but what 2 year old likes that?!)
*most any kind of meat besides chicken fingers...if that counts!

You are saying so many new words too, that it is hard to keep track of what you are saying now. You are working with a speech therapist once a week to help you with your words and you love her! and have learned a lot from her already. We are so proud of you!

You are taking just one nap a day for about 2hours 20 minutes. and love to take your nap in mommy and daddy's bed.

You have grown so much in the past year and are so proud of the little boy you have become!! LOVE YOU LUKE!!

Aunt Kayla's Shower

Well, Aunt Kayla is getting soooo close to her due date of November 10! Last weekend we had a baby shower for her and Jayden. It was so much fun and she got lots of great things. Seeing her open those gifts really makes it seem like he is going to be here so soon. Luke is excited about having a cousin, well, we are really excited to have a nephew! Dustin and Kayla will make great parents and while we are all blessed to have Jayden, he will be even more blessed to have them as parents.
We love you guys and seriously cannot wait to meet your little man. You are soooooo close now!
Isn't she just glowing?!?!

video from the Lake

Pretty much the whole time we were on the boat, Luke asked for "gankie" which is his blankie. We left it in our condo for fear it would get in the water...and be gone. And Luke cannot live without him right now. So, here he is getting excited about going back to the condo because he wanted to get "gankie" He is so funny!

We're back from Tennessee...

Over Labor Day weekend we headed down to Norris Lake in Tennesse with some good friends of ours. It was a blast...and Luke loved it a lot more than he did last year! We really had a nice and relaxing time soaking up the sun, riding in the boat, and making memories that will last forever. (disclaimer * Be ready for a picture overload!)

Me and Jenina on our evening boat ride....which was sooooooo relaxing.

Luke and Chris talking to "Bruce" Luke's cabbage patch doll.

Daddy and Luke trecking down those stairs! It sure was a climb...but totally worth it.

Awww...the little family.

How cute is this kid?? What a ham!

He loved riding fast with his arms in up in the air! too cute...

Swiming in the lake...he was NOT happy about it. Even though he had a life jacket AND floaties. silly guy.

So we stuck him in his raft....he was much much happier.

Don't worry mom, we were there the whole time! we didn't just let him float by himself...although this picture is pretty funny! looks like we did huh??

Now you see him..........

Now you don't. He moves so fast these days!!!

Driving the boat...well, thinking he is driving the boat.

Totally and utterly relaxed.

He loved going back and forth between the back and the front of the boat. He finally stopped long enough in the front to get some pictures. He is always on the go.

And apparently it was time for gymnastics?? what?!? He thought this was so funny. Which...really..it was!

It really was a great trip and we can't wait to do it again NEXT year!!

I will leave you with some of my favorite black and whites I took down there.
