Easter

Here are some Easter pics. finally. I have been too tired to keep up to date with this blog lately. But I wanted to share some of them!

We took Luke to the Easter Egg hunt at a local park and he loved it. Brandon said that he was picking up eggs and putting them in other kid's baskets during the hunt...even baskets that were fuller than his! How sweet is that kid?

But before you know Grandpa and Daddy helped him to devise a plan to get the most eggs.....

And got good luck kisses from everyone.... :)

And took a picture with TiTi and Mommy....

Then we went over to Grandma and Grandpa's house and they had another egg hunt! Of course, they hid the eggs a couple of times so that Luke and Jayden could keep finding them....

And Uncle Dustin helped to make sure he had "nummies" in his eggs too....

Then the boys got their Easter baskets....

And Luke was extremely excited about the pack of fruit chews he got....

So over all it was a great day with family and good food.
On Easter Sunday, we had Easter with my mom's side. And I didn't end up getting very many pictures, but probably because I was just too exhausted. We did not end up going to church that morning (which was hard to not do on Easter!) because I had been in the hospital with more contractions most of the early early morning. So we were wiped out when we got home around 8am. We went ahead and went to my mom's and I just took it easy and hung out with family and ate more great food. I didn't even get a picture of Luke with anyone! sorry!!
But I did end up getting a picture with my 2 pregnant cousins! (There is another one of us too...which makes 4 new babies this year, but they weren't at Easter this year)
So here is my cousin Jenny (due May 27)
me (due May 16)
and my cousin's wife, Megan, (due Oct 4...I think...correct me if I'm wrong!)
and my other cousin's wife, Melanie, is due around Nov 28 I think.
So it's one busy year in our family! But it's so fun!!
Oh and did I mention....all three of us are having BOYS! yep...looks like our family only produces little men. So, we will see what Melanie ends up having...and she already has 2 boys! :)

More Cousin Love

****************************************
Doctor appointment update:
Still the same. Blah.
I did see a different doctor in the practice that actually saw me 2 out of the 4x at the hospital and says he is super suprised I have made it this far. He said he doesn't think I will make it to May 12. I told him, "yeah....you didn't think I would make it to my last appointment. :) " To which he just chuckled. yeah...funny huh?
So we shall see.
Any predictions anyone???
and I just want to add that I am sooooo not trying to sound like a complainer. I am just getting so uncomfortable with the constant contractions and bad lower back pain that I am just ready.
and to top it off, today marks the day in my pregnancy with Luke when he was born.
Just 3 and half more hours and this will be the most pregnant I have ever been. HA!

36 weeks!!

We've made it.

I'm done.

Baby won't come out. LOL.

But at least he more than likely won't be in the NICU now if he comes early.

Appointment went well.

No changes down there. Still loose 1cm, 75% effaced and 0 station.

another routine appointment on Monday. Wish they weren't so close together, but that's how we had to schedule them.

Luke is doing well. He's really pushing mommy's limits these days.

He knows life is going to change I think.

As I type he is sitting in time out.............singing a song. HA!

We are trusting God's timing is right on with when this peanut will get here..........

Doctor's appt tomorrow morning

Just wanted to let you everyone know that baby boy is still cooking. :) We did end up making yet another trip to labor and delivery on Wednesday morning, only to find out that the contractions still are not changing anything. Which of course was good news....this little man needs to stay in.

So, tomorrow we go in for my routine 36 week appointment. So we will see how things are progressing, if they are.

Bed rest (well, as much as a bed rest as I put myself on) has helped this week I think. I have still had contractions, but they are bearable (except for the ones on Tuesday evening/Wednesday morning).

We are just getting very anxious to meet this new little boy and see who it is that is causing all this drama! :) Luke might have to work extra hard to get attention away from his brother when he gets here.

Thank you for your prayers and for everyone who has helped us out this week with "babysitting" me and Luke (mom, Emily, and Lavona!!!!) and for all the yummy meals. (small group girls you really rock...Brandon has ate every one and said, "yum" each time. I think we need you all to cook for us more often.)

Keep ya posted.........

3 trips to labor and delivery....still pregnant!

This past weekend Brandon and I made several trips to Labor and Delivery. It started on Thursday night when I started having some contractions that just "felt different" then the normal annoying ones I had been having for a few weeks.

I called my doctor and she told me to come in to just be safe. (i was 34 weeks and 5 days). So in we went. Well, me and my mom, Brandon stayed home and tried to sleep in case it was really nothing since he had to work the next morning.

I got there, they hooked me up to the moniters, and my contractions were coming every 3 minutes. Which shocked me! Because I only felt them coming about every 5-10 minutes or so. She checked me and I was at 1 cm 50% effaced, and baby was at 0 station. (Basically very low for almost 35 weeks). So they gave me a shot of Tributiline to stop them, and after 2 hours it worked enough for me to go home. So home I went with Tributiline tablets and orders to "take it easy."

Friday my mom and sister came over to help me with Luke all day. I woke up to contractions coming about every 2 minutes. So I took a Tributiline tablet. I had some nasty side effects from that drug and called the on call doctor to talk about them. He prescribed me another type of drug (Procardia) to try instead because he said it sounded like the Tributiline wasn't really working and he didn't really think that the Procardia would really work either.

I took a nap that afternoon, only to wake up to the same kind of contractions I had earlier. Took a Procardia pill and had the same kind of side effects as I did with the Tributiline. After going to the bathroom, I also thought that maybe my bag of water had maybe tore just like with Luke. So I called the doctor and away we went again to good ol' St. Vincent's.

I got there, he checked me again, and I hadn't changed since the night before. And they figured out my water had not broken. All very good news. He told me that if the side effects of those drugs were making me feel awful, then to not worry about taking them because they weren't really working on stopping my contractions anyway. He said he didn't think I would make it to my next appointment this coming Thursday and he predicted he would see us again on Easter Sunday. He sent me home with an Ambien so I could finally get some sleep.

So, Saturday came and went. I had contractions on and off all day long, and they did get more intense. But when I got home and layed down to sleep, they stopped enough that I could actually fall asleep.

I woke up at 2:10 in the morning on Sunday morning to some pretty intense contractions. I wasn't able to get back to sleep this time. I took a shower to help with the back pains I had about 3am and then told Brandon I was getting concerned. So we called the doctor (again) and he said come in.

So, off we head to good ol' St. Vincent's again. I got there, and the nurse said my contractions were about every 4 minutes, but I didn't have much cervical change ( I was 1-2cm) so I wasn't considered in Preterm Labor, but having Preterm Contractions. So they sent me home with a prescription of Ambien so that I could get some rest at night to see if that would help me feel more rested. (which so far so good.....I am sleeping at night now!)

They want me to make it to at least 36 weeks (which is this coming Saturday) because a baby born at 35 weeks will automatically be admitted to the NICU. Which is definetly something we don't want to happen of course. I have an appointment on Thursday, as long as I don't feel like we need to go in again before then, to see how things are going.

As of today, I am doing good. Still having contractions and I have noticed they are definetly more intense towards the afternoon and evening. I'm just tired. Well, tired of being tired too. I'll keep you all posted on how things are going as the days go by with this little one. I'm going to try to update my pregnancy blog too, just so I have everything to do with this pregnancy over there too in one place. But probably not right now...or today. I'm just tired.

They haven't officially put me on bed rest, but hubby and I have decided that I probably should be. So I have just been sitting around all weekend and all day today. We have family and friends lined up to come over and help me take care of Luke during the day when hubby can't be here. Which has been nice, because then I'm not worrying about Luke getting deprived of anything. :)

I'll keep you all posted! Thanks for the prayers...we want baby boy to stay in their as long as possible.

Things to Remember

Luke,

There are soooo many things right now that you are doing that if we don't take the time to write them down, they will be gone from our memory. You will grow up, and the things we think we will remember, well, we probably won't.

You are offically two and half years old.

Where did that time go? I know, we feel like we say that all the time, but it's so true. You have grown in so many ways in even just the past 6 months.
All your pants you got for your birthday are officially high waters.

You love everything cars. And not just the movie anymore, but actual Hot Wheels. Or really any other car that resembles those little cars.

You line them up. Pretend they talk to each other sometimes. And race them against each other. You will literally play with them for hours.

You love everything "choo choo." We always joke that it's a good thing we live in a town that has a rail yard, because you can always hear it from our house. You gasp and say, "aaahh...choo choo.." in a quiet voice. And then wait to hear the horn toot again.

You also know when we are driving in the car when we are coming up to the railroad crossing. You yell "choo choo" as soon as you see it in your sight.

When mommy is driving, you yell, "GO mommy's car car!!" over and over. Like you need to tell my car to go faster... :)

You can count to 4 in Spanish, but can't quite clearly say 1-4 in English.

You are obsessed with your "boles" (aka: moles) that you are starting to get on your little body. You will lift your sock up and point to the one right above your foot and say, "Guke's bole" over and over.

And then you always have to point out "Guke's boo boo" too. Which really consists of any kind of scrape or scratch you might have aquired that day.

You heard thunder during a storm, and now love to ask if there is "Guke's housth der?" (translate: Luke's house thunder??) to which we have to respond only when it rains. And then worry that there is "der" at Mi Mi's and Ti Ti's house. (Grammy and Auntie's)

You wake up almost every morning telling me who's house you want to go to that day. And sometimes it's just "Guke's housth"

You started calling your house a "hum" (or home)

You sleep with "gankie" "choo choo gankie" and your blue pillow everynight.

and you must tuck in, "Gickey" "Pooh" "Tanda" "Bruce" "Baby" and "Mommy" everynight after we pray with all of them too. (aka: Mickey, Pooh, Panda, Bruce, prayer bear, and teddy bear)

Sometimes you will laugh at your "friends" and say "oh Bruce" or "oh Tanda" like they did something really silly, or like they did something bad and weren't listening to you.

When you wake up in the morning you yell at the very top of your lungs,
"Mommy!!!! I all none!!!!" (I'm done).

You also are potty training and are now wearing underwear most of the time!

But sometimes you like to just run around with no pants on.

You tell us you have to go to the bathroom by yelling "I PEE!"
You call me, Mom, Mommy, and Mama.

You call Brandon, Dada only.

You are one strongwilled little boy. But also one of the most caring 2 year olds we know. You will stop everything you are doing to just give us a kiss or a hug. Even if it's on our arms, legs, or cheeks.

You have started really asking us questions, like, "Mommy, all none with nummies?" or "Dada, want choo choo?" or "Mommy, nummies hot?" (nummies means food)

When we ask you how old you are you say, "three"

You call a slide a "ing"

(even though you say the same thing for swing)
You love to talk on the phone and will ask "Guke hewoh??" just so you can say "hello" to whoever is on the other end.
You now tell everyone you see "Hiiiiiiiiiiii!" and wave.

Luke, we love you more and more everyday and you really make us laugh all the time. I never ever ever want to forget you at this age and I wish I could just freeze you right here. I cannot wait for the morning to come so that we can hear your sweet sweet voice again because it really is the sweetest sound in the whole world. You are growing up before our very eyes and we are loving the little boy you are becoming. You, our son, are an amazing little man.

We love you buddy.

Luke's stitches

These were taken the night it happened right before bedtime. Now, of course, they have been removed, and they scar is healing quite nicely. Except there is a pretty good sized bump where the scar is...I don't know if that is normal or not. But I'm sure the scar will only get better as he grows and it heals more. Good thing it's under the chin...

Posing with his bandaid. This is how he wanted to have them covered up for the whole week.

Showing us how they look

Then he showed us how Bruce (his cabbage patch doll) hurt his chin too. And of course, Bruce had to have a bandaid.

Daddy putting on his new bandaid for the night after we cleaned it a little.
Poor guy STILL talks about his boo boo all the time and shows anyone who asks him about it. I don't think he'll forget anytime soon. :)
