Luke's baby cousin is on his way!

My sister in law Kayla was induced last night. Jayden has not yet made his arrival, but the doctors are now saying he could come anywhere between 2-3am tonight. so he will quite possible be a Halloween baby! We are so very excited and cannot wait to meet this little man. Kayla is a trooper and is really handling labor sooooooooo well. I just wanted to let everyone know...and if you think about our family tonight, say a prayer that everyone stays healthy and safe and that Jayden will be here soon!

Pumpkin Photo Shoot Take 1!

Last weekend, I also attempted to get a good shot of Luke with his pumpkins that he is so very proud of. I say attempt because well.....

"Hey buddy...can you show mommy your pumpkins??"

"those are great! oh wait...you want to move them right next to you...okay"

"quit touching your pumpkins. 1, 2, 3, SMILE at mommy!"

"Wait...what are you doing?"

"Oh, OK you want to put them back where they were...that's okay...can you then look at me?"

"wait...daddy is busy mowing right now...he will come see your pumpkins in a minute k?"

"HEY LUKE! over here mister! look at mommy....not daddy silly!'

"Luke...Luke! look at MOMMY!"

"Luke, smile at mommy. Okay....DON'T smile at mommy!!"

PERFECT!!! whoo hoo! after about 15 pictures...this is the best one of him looking at me I was able to get. What a BUSY, but silly boy. And really...that is pretty much what I said to him too. heehee. He will usually do things we want him to do...but only if we tell him to not do it.

You want him to go to his room and fetch you a diaper...tell him not too.

You want him to give you more and more kisses....tell him you don't want any.

You want him to eat his carrots on his plate...tell him he better not!

You want him to smile next to his pumpkins and look at you for a nice Halloween picture....say "don't smile!"

He does it every time. :)

I hope that doesn't mean he will always be a rule breaker. hmmmm....we could be in trouble!

to the orchard!

We went to the orchard last Saturday for the first time as a family. We didn't go the year Luke was born..he was too little and it was too chilly for him. and last year, only Luke and I went with some friends (you have to check last year out...look how much bigger he looks now! and how he had NO hair! awww!!!). So this year was extra special. and Luke got to ride the hayride to go pick his very own pumpkin! or should I saw pumpkins....he wanted 2 of them. :) We had sooo much fun!

oh..and update on the baby front...

I am feeling MUCH better than I was even a week ago. So hopefully the worst is behind me right now. I still have my days, but it's not all the time anymore. yay! Thanks for all the prayers and well wishes. It has helped a lot!

Just a REMINDER!

For all of you that know Dustin and Kayla, we have a game started on www.expectnet.com (game name Mayobaby) so you can guess the birth date, weight, and height, etc. We thought it would be a fun little thing to do as the birth of little sweet Jayden is right around the corner! I will be closing the game towards the end of the month, probably around Oct 27 if he isn't here yet! So...if you have made a guess and want to change it....you have until then! Pacer Game with Dad!

Friday night, Brandon got some tickets to head down to a preseason Pacer game from a good friend of ours and he took just Luke! Luke had so much fun spending time with just dad and mom sure enjoyed watching some "chick" flicks while they were gone. (I must recommend BOTH Baby Mama and Made of Honor...both very cute). I was even able to talk Brandon into taking the camera to capture their first real "man bonding" experience.

Brandon you are such a great dad for spending the evening with your son doing boy things! I just know Luke enjoyed every minute with you that night.

First Appointment

I had my first OB appointment yesterday afternoon. And things are looking great! My doctor said my due date is May 16, which would make me almost 10 weeks along. whoo hoo! We also got to hear the heartbeat for the first time, which by far is the probably one of the best sounds in the whole wide world (besides Luke laughing hysterically of course). It was fast...170 bpm. I go back on November 10 for my next appointment.
I really love going to the first appointment, it just confirms everything and really makes the pregnancy set in. Like I am really going to have 2 kids come this time next year. It's so crazy to think about! God is so good and we feel so blessed.

thank you for your prayers and well wishes! I am still feeling a bit nauseus, but have been put on another kind of medicine to help with that and the dehydration (because I am still a teeny bit dehydrated) and my doctor told me I just need to take it easy for a little bit longer. She said that the morning sickness (which I am now only getting in the evening...starting around 6pm and lasts until I go to bed and gets worse as the night goes on) peaks at 10 weeks and should slow down after that...which means....this Saturday I am 10 weeks, so hopefully I will be feeling much better very soon.

Luke is doing well, nothing to new to share about him. He is really making a lot of headway in speech right now and had a big day yesterday with his therapist. He repeated some new sounds for her that we haven't heard him say before, so we were all very excited. He has been sucha good boy for me while I have been sick, and while I feel bad that I can't really do what I want with him, or take him to too many places, he has seemed to be pretty content playing with his cars and kitchen lately. and not to mention all the cartoons he has been watching so mommy can rest :)

Halloween Bonfire

I made it out into the "land of the living"! I was getting a little sick of being couped up in our house. (for like 2 weeks...not even kidding!) and Luke has been too. poor guy. But last Saturday night, we made it to my family's Halloween Bonfire. We were supposed to dress up....so....we went a little all out this year. It was fun though and Luke had the best time EVER. Can you tell what we are?? (yes...Brandon has on a wig...heehee)

apologies....

To everyone. I have not been that great at keeping up with Luke's blog lately. I have just been feeling so sick, to the point where I could barely get out of bed or off the couch. Last Friday, I got really bad and had to go into St. Vincent's for some IV fluids because of dehydration. And well, today, I'm still feeling a little weak. Although I did make it out of the house today! whoo hoo! My mom drove me and Luke around to get him a Halloween costume. You will have to wait and see what he's going to be....
I am hoping to be feeling better very soon. My OBGYN told me that the 8th week of pregnancy is the worst, so hopefully that means I turned 8 weeks last Saturday and not this Thursday. :)

on the plus side, I still have a full tank of gas that has lasted me almost a whole month! I haven't got out much recently. :)

I promise pictures are to come soon. As soon as I feel up to blogging more...so be ready for lots more posts!

and if you think about us, please say a prayer that this all day long..umm..I mean Morning Sickness goes away soon! we are all feeling the effects of it. :( Thanks!

and the news is....

YEP! We are expecting. We are so excited for Luke to have a brother or sister. I should be around 7-8 weeks along and due sometime in May. I go for my first appointment on October 14 which is now a week and half away. whoo hoo!

apparently those dollar store tests really do work! heehee!
