Overheard this in the car this week, pretty much every day...
(Caleb wailing in the background because he most always cries at some point while in the car)
Luke to Caleb:
"Don't worry Dubby, we almost home. akay Dubby?? almost home"
(pulling into the driveway)
"SEE DUBBY!! WE HOME!!"
*I think I teared up a little*

spoke too soon...
See that sweet sweet face?? That sweet little guy??
well....
He's not sleeping at night. Nope. And it's not so sweet at 3am. The past 2 nights he has been up and wanting a bottle and just down right fussy. or spitting up....pretty bad.....
We are so confused. Maybe it's because I blogged about it. Maybe it's because I mentioned it on Facebook. Or maybe it's because I talked about it with a beam in my eye. ..... It's been jinxed.
We soooo know he can go at least 9 hours now at night. So what's his deal? Is he playing us?
My guess is no. I am pretty sure his little tummy is definetly bothering him. He just can't seem to get comfy, and makes his body pretty tense during feedings, and after too. He's not spitting up quite as much as before, so maybe the Previcid has helped with that......
We are changing his water. We were just using the filtered water from the refrigerator since we are at hubby's parent's house. But they have well, so maybe that isn't enough. So I went to good ole' Walmart again today to buy some gallon jugs of water. We'll see if this helps.
Poor guy. We feel so bad for him that his little tummy is hurting. And we are desperatly wanting our 9 hours of sleep back too.

pictures from the 4th....
I know. I'm a little slow, considering it's almost August. But, we had a great time watching fireworks and just spending time with family. And technically this was Caleb's first holiday...
It rained on the acutal day of the 4th, but the next day we went to our local park and hung out with family and waited for the firework display. It wasn't very busy where we were, which was great. So we all just let the kids entertain us.

And Caleb and his drama face. This is the most popular, "I'm getting ready to cry for no apparent reason other than I can" face....we see this a lot.

update on us:
Still no word on our house situation. We are waiting to hear back from the bank in regards to the house we like. They say they want to work with us, but can't verbally commit and they have yet to sign the purchase agreement.
We are enjoying living with the grandparents and things are going great.
************************************************************
The most popular phrase from Luke this week has been,
"2 mo mimutes" "I wanna pay for 2 mo mimutes"
can you translate that? It's cracking us up!
*************************************************************
Caleb slept through the night this week!! He started on Tuesday night...and slept through from 11-7am! did the same the next night. and then Thursday night slept 11pm-8am! and then this morning he slept from 11pm-730am! whoo hoo!
Needless to say mommy and daddy are on cloud nine.....and feeling good!
***********************************************
and for fun, I finally dug up a picture of Daddy when he was Caleb's age for comparison too.
Here is Caleb at 2 months old

And Daddy at 2 months old

so it begins...
We have now moved out of our "old house" (as we are telling Luke, so he doesn't get confused) and into hubby's parents house. Things are going great. We have been here less than 24 hours and Caleb has cried for 2 days straight (he is much better today thankfully), Luke fell DOWN THE STAIRS and got 3 huge rug burns on his face, I have lost my phone and it seems that maybe the earth swallowed it up as it flew off my car, and Luke has only asked once to go back to "Guke's housh" But other than that, we only have a few loose ends to tie up at the old house and tomorrow the Pack Rat is getting picked up. Plus, my in-laws will be back from their vacation soon too, I think Luke might be a little confused as to why they aren't here.
So, this weekend marks the official beginning of phase 1 of our new, fun, unpredictable, scary, stressful, exciting journey of not quite knowing what's in store.
I will try to update when I can! As for now, I must go feed the peanut his bottle (who by the way, is sooooo NOT a peanut anymore. This kid weighed in at 12lbs 2oz at his 2 month appt! wowzers!!! that's almost about 2.5 lbs heavier than Luke was at this stage. But his thighs are so rolly polly you can't help but squeeze this kid. I LOVE IT! )

SOLD!!!
Yep. It's Sold! We are moving out this weekend. It's crazy to think about it. Where will we be going you ask?? We have no idea. Just trusting God has a place for us to go. In the mean time, we will be living with hubby's parents for a while, then mine for a while, until we know for sure where we will be. We have a house we like on 5 acres, but don't know for sure if we are going to get it yet.
We know God has had His hand in this the whole time. We literally sold this house in 2 months (we put it up the Friday before Caleb was born). and had said we were only going to keep it up for sale for 2 more months. Then we got an offer. One we absolutely could NOT pass up. So, we sold it. God's timing isn't always our own I guess. (Which, God taught us while we were waiting and waiting for Caleb to be born.) Now it's just the waiting game to see where our new home will be. In the meantime, the grandparents are excited about having their grandkids living with them. :)
Good bye old house. We will miss you. We had lots of memories here. Luke was only 8 months old when we moved here. He learned to crawl and walk here. Caleb was brought home here. Shaylee was put down while we lived here. This was her last house with us. That thought alone makes me so sad. We have some of the best neighbors around that we are so sad to leave. But it's time to move on. We knew we wouldn't live here longer than 2-3 years, but who knew it would be hard to leave! Our boys won't remember this house, but we sure will.
I'm not quite sure how impressed Caleb is with the whole move....
But Luke is sure getting excited to "move to new housh" If only we knew where that would be! :)
My sister, mom, and mother in law, (my father in law too!) have been such a help with packing and loading stuff up. As you can see, my sister was extremely excited to pack up the kitchen....
As was my mom....

Caleb was pretty chill most of the day. Have I mentioned how much of a good baby this kid is?!?
Anyway, we are moving. We are both excited and sad. But God has a place for us, we are trusting in HIM!

Luke, you're so funny!
Now that Luke is starting to say more and more words, and we are starting to understand a lot more of what he is saying, he is one funny kid. He has made us laugh so much these days. He is starting to really laugh at himself too, which is funny. We are so enjoying this age with him and can't believe that he will be 3 sooooooo very soon. He is still continuing his speech therapy once a week for an hour, but that stops at the age of 3, so he will then move onto a preschool type thing with our local school system. He has already qualified for 30minutes once a week speech therapy with a speech therapist and about two other kids in his "class" We are excited about that for him because not only will he still get his therapy, but he will have a little more interaction with other kids his age and with another adult that isn't family.
So anyway, I just wanted to document something funny he said last night, because it totally caught me off guard with what he said.
It was right before bed time, and Caleb and I were downstairs in the living room. I had taken all of Caleb's clothes off (because the kids LOVES to be naked) and Luke was talking to him with me and trying to make him smile, AND hugging the poor babe to death. And as I was talking to Caleb I was just saying silly things like, "oh Caleb, you love to be nakie don't ya Dubs? one nakie nakie boy" and so on, Luke was trying to talk to him like that too.
Then Brandon told Luke it was time for bed so they raced up stairs. After about 5 minutes Luke came over to the railing and said, "THEE (see) Mommy! I nakie too!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!" and then proceded to lift his shirt up and show me how naked he was.
We were laughing so hard at him. Oh boy, the things he picks up on these days.

I want to apologize too for taking so much time between posts. We are in the process of moving. Yep. You read that right. We are moving. We put our house up for sale literally the Friday before Caleb was born, and exactly 2 months later, it sold. We were shocked! But we are excited to see what is in store for us next. We will be moving in with my in-laws for a while, and then into my mom's house. And then hopefully into a new home. Where that will be....we are still unsure. But more on that later!
I will try to keep it updated as much as possible. Because this is a phase of our life we will definetly want to document. :)

2 months old....
Caleb is officially 2 months old now. Where does the time go? I have no idea. I couldn't tell you anything significant that we have accomplished as a family in the past 2 months. It's like time is flying by....again. I remember it felt like this when Luke was itty bitty too. And it still does looking at Luke and thinking "He's going to be 3!! this September, since when did I have a 3 year old??"
So at 2 months Caleb, you are:
*smiling ALL the time, at anything really. You are really loving smiling at the windows and walls these days too. But you're face really lights up when someone is talking and smiling at you too. Especially Luke.
*awake a whole lot more. And we are loving staring into those beautiful blue eyes.
*sleeping 7 hours at night!!! whoo hoo. This is a big accomplishment mommy and daddy are really proud of.
*love love love love bath time. It quiets you down in an instant.
*cooing and saying "ah goo" it is so precious to hear your sweet little voice.
*holding your head up so great. You love being carried in your baby B'Jorn facing out to see the world.
*HUGE! you are so much bigger than your brother was at this age. We are loving the rolly polly thighs everytime we change your diaper and see your legs hanging out of your onesies.
*taking 5 oz at every feeding now. And eating exactly every 3 hours during the day. Sometimes you will take 6oz at your 8am feeding. You are our chunky peanut.
*crying a lot. But we think it's because your tummy hurts from that darn reflux. But, we also think you are a pretty dramatic boy too, because you're cries aren't always that believeable.
*taking really great naps during the day too. It's always about 1.5 hours after you eat that you are ready for a nap, and wanting your bed. It's really too cute how you love to be swaddled and have your paci (and sometimes even your thumb!!) to go to sleep. And most times you really just want to be in your bed too.
You are growing up before our very eyes. We love you so much little man, and cannot even remember what life was like before you. You are completing our family. We LOVE YOU!

Father's Day 2009 (a little late)
Wow, I can't believe Father's day has already come and gone. And it was even over a week ago! It's crazy how time has been flying for us these days. It's like we just blink and it's the start of a whole new week.
But I tried to make an effort this year to get some pictures on Father's Day. I usually don't do that great of a job to remember to get the camera out and capture the day, but I tried!
We started the day off sleeping in till 10:30...yes! all of us, even Caleb. (That is of course after he had his 8am bottle). Had a yummy breakfast (made by me) of muffins, bagels, eggs, and bacon. Then hung out outside since it was such a beautiful day.
I know, it was Father's Day, but I wanted a picture with peanut too. Especially since we didn't get one on Mother's Day. (he was only 6 days old then...I wasn't too keen on remembering to take pictures then...)
Luke thoroughly enjoyed his time with Dad playing in his pool and sprinkler....

We then headed over to visit my step dad, Jeff. or Papaw Jeff as Luke calls him.

Thank you Jeff for all you have done for our family. I know we can always count on you for anything. (Yes, even the best back rub ever when I was in labor with peanut!) We are so thankful that our kids have a Papaw like you that we know loves them unconditionally and of course, spoils them rotten. :)
We also went and visited my grandpa, but forgot to get the camera out. sorry Grandpa!
Grandpa, thank you so much for being the father to me I always needed. I love you just like you were my dad, and I am soooo grateful for you.
We then went over to Brandon's parent's house. Papaw and LaLa's house. As Luke calls them. And had dinner and hung out. It's always so much fun to get together with all of them.

Daryl, Thank you for being a wonderful, Christian, example to your sons. I am so thankful for the man Brandon is, and it's partly because of you. And I know he loves, respects, and holds you in the utmost regard. and thank you for always being there for me too. I know I can go to you for anything (even when I am a lonely stranded girl with my 2 kids, with no way to get home because of a flat tire!!!) and you will be there in some way, either physically helping me out, or with the best advice ever. thanks.
We did a lot of visiting that day. And picture taking. But I'm guessing that my fabulous sister-in-law got way more pictures than I did. (you can see some of them on her website too).
Here is Caleb getting some love from his "Gunkie D" (as Luke calls him. Do you see a theme here? Luke has named them all on his own) on Uncle Dustin's first Father's Day.
He then got some sweet love from his favorite Aunt Kayla....
Brandon is in the background trying to give Jayden some love....but he is too wiggly these days...but what do you expect from a curious 8 month old?? How cute is he by the way???
And oh, sweet Luke, had to put the bib on like his cousin and brother. and then "cheesed" it for the camera. Man, I love that kid.
He had to be the one who fed "Dubby" Caleb tolerates it quite well we think.
And then out came the good ole bikes! LaLa had to give Jayden some help, but they did have lots of fun just sitting on them.
Overall it was a fantastic fun day. Nice and Relaxing.

To Brandon on Father's Day: (okay okay....a week and half later...): You are an amazing father to our 2 boys. and I know, I can't believe we have 2 kids now either, but you do a great job balancing your time with the both of them already. You are such a wonderful role model for our kids and I hope they grow up wanting to emulate you in every way. I think I fall in love with you more every time I see you tenderly taking care of them. I love seeing you as a father and are a wonderful example of what a great father is. I'm so glad our boys have you.
