"ME MU"

Our son has found a new favorite thing. He is in love with watching Disney Pixar's Finding Nemo. He will sit and watch the entire movie...start to finish....without taking his eyes of the screen for a second. He even asks to watch it every night before bed..."mommy, me mu....I want me mu" "Me mu" is what he calls Nemo. how cute is that??

anyway, I tell you all this, and well, because I never want to forget last Thursday night because my son showed us a new side of his personality that we knew....but didn't know the extent of. Luke is apparently a very sensitive little man. We always knew that because he will dwell on things when he does something bad...or goes to time out...or gets told no. He repeats to us over and over again, "das a no no" or "no no dada say no no" or walk over and point to where he had to sit in time out and say "no no" while shaking that adorable little finger at us. But, last Thursday night after getting to the end of Nemo, Luke showed us how sweet of a boy he really is.

I'm sure most of you have seen the movie, but if you haven't and don't want to know the end don't read on. :) But at the end (which isn't eve a sad ending by the way!) Nemo is getting ready to take off and go to school, but forgets to give his dad a hug, he stops the class swims, to his dad and tells him how much he loves him. Then swims off to his teacher and class to have some adventure that day...all while his dad is yelling goodbye to him.

Well, we think Luke thought he was actually leaving his dad again because at that moment he burst into tears. When I say burst....I mean BURST! He had his little lip going and crocodile tears streaming down his sweet little face. We think he then got embarrassed that did that because he acted like his head hurt. awww!!! But we know it was the movie. Especially because we watched it again today and he did the same thing at the end at the exact same moment, except this time he tried to hold it in. He had tears welling in his eyes and his little lips were quivering and when we told him (yet again) that Nemo was coming back to his daddy that he was just going to school for the day, he said "yeah" in the sweetest little cry voice you have seriously ever heard.

So our boy, is, well, so sweet and innocent. I will never forget that look on his face when he got so upset about it and wondering what in the world his little mind thought Nemo was doing. It's moments like these when our son's personality shines through that we are reminded of the innocence and sweetness he has right now and how he is coming to understand all the different emotions we are capable of feeling. Thank you God for, once again, giving us the front row to witness it all.
