Caleb Benjamen

I want to say sorry to all those people who have checked and checked our blog to see more of our new sweet sweet boy.....all to see....nothing.
Adjusting to life with 2 boys has been quite the adventure so far. But we are loving every single minute. I haven't had a whole lot of free time to come upstairs and update this thing with any information. I'm thankful my most fabulous sister in law posted those few pics of Caleb to announce he had finally come. I will post my birth story on the pregnancy blog here so you can all here how our new mister Caleb made his debut into this world. To make a long story short, I ended up going into labor the weekend of the 2nd, and not really thinking it was "real" labor (cause honestly, what was I supposed to know, I had been having contractions for a month and only dialated to 1-2cm that whole time) I called my doctor just to make sure she knew I was still having those darn contractions, except they felt stronger and stronger. Only to have her ask me to come in to be "checked" to make sure. Well, that is THEE only time I ever drove myself to my appointment. I get there, she checks me, and says, "What do you think about having a baby TODAY!!" I cried and said, "but I'm all by myself!!" HA! So, lonely ol' me walked over to St. Vincents (my doctor's office is attatched to the hospital) and got checked in. They gave me nubain for the pain around noon, I called everyone I could, and felt the best I did in months! I love nubain by the way. Got my epidural at 2:30pm and Caleb entered this world at 8:51 pm. What a day....we'll never forget it.
So anyway. You can read more here because I don't want to bore you all with it twice.
On to the pictures!
Brandon, Luke, and myself with one last picture of our family of 3. Kinda bittersweet really.....
Luke and his little cousin Jayden waiting for Caleb to finally come out. My csection kept getting pushed back and back. I ended up being the last one of the day. As you can tell, Jayden was quite irritated by that too. :)Our first picture with our new little boy......Mommy and Caleb as we are being wheeled back to our room. This time around I got to hold my son right away and they didn't take him from me until he needed his bath. I was so excited. Luke had to be whisked away by the NICU team to be checked out before I could hold him....so this moment is one I won't forget. Luke meeting his "dubby" for the first time. (he calls him Dubby because we call Caleb his Bubby, but, well, if you know Luke, sometimes his letters don't always come out quite the way they should. so, poor Caleb might just grow up thinking his name is Dubby....we call him that quite often.)The next day, he was a little more excited to see him and hold him. And this is the picture you will see a lot at our house. Luke wanting to hold Dubby and kiss him and touch him. It's so sweet. Our first official family of 4 picture. My grandpa holding Caleb for the first time....My sister, Auntie Emily (Ti Ti as Luke calls her), Caleb, and meAll the cousins. Jayden, Luke, and Caleb. Grandma Mayo with the boys Grandpa Mayo with the boys
Mommy and Caleb the day we were going home....seriously I can't believe how big he looks here! It's crazy! He came out of me bigger than Luke was at one month old! Our sweet boy all snuggled in his car seat ready to hit the road..... That's all I have for now....check back....maybe not too too soon, but soon enough, to see more pictures of our new sweet boy! We are so in love with him!!! And he seriously looks like an exact replica of Luke. It's quite funny really.....I'll see if I can dig some old pictures of Luke up too sometime.
