Luke has learned a lot over the past 10 days

Sorry it has taken me so long to update Luke's site! I guess I didn't realize it had been 10 days. oops.
Well, a few things have happened since Luke last got a hold of the computer. :)

He has learned a lot!
1. He can now drink from a sippy cup all by himself! I need to get pics of this....but over the weekend he has learned to hold his own cup to get a drink...and even to tilt it back! We wondered how long it was going to take for this since he would only take his juice if we held the cup for him.

2. He also learned how to drink from a straw! Thanks to my cousin Krissy for coming over with the cool juice boxes, Luke wanted to try it so bad! and he got it....

3. and this is THEE big one he did TODAY. Our 10.5 month old son took 7 STEPS all by himself. Yes....Luke walked today. He has been really brave lately by just letting go of the things he hangs on to to just stand unassisted for a minute of more. and today...we set him down in front of his toy and Brandon said, come here Buddy, and away he went. of course..it brought tears to me eyes...I just can't believe how fast he has grown. What a little man now. I will work hard to get video of him doing this this week so you all can see...he such a peanut to be walking! LOL

4. His third tooth also broke through....so now he has 2 bottom front teeth...and one top second tooth. (not top fronts yet!)

We also went to the Children's Museum this past week with our friends Christin and Ava. Luke had so much fun. He was wanting to go everywhere!

Here is a picture I thought was just too cute! The TV thing must be in the Mayo blood.....LOL!! and look! Luke has a hold of the remote control...I wonder how that happened?

and here is Luke and Grammy this week at Metropolis...thanks for the ice cream after this picture Grammy! it was yummy.

We have also found out that our dog Shaylee, is pretty sick. We took her in to be checked out because she has lost so much weight since we moved. And the vet told us that she more than likely has cancer in her liver. which would make her not eat and lose so much weight. We were so sad to hear this because she is like a kid to us. We are however, treating her for liver disease to see if that will help (the vet said its an 80% chance that its cancer) so she is currently on medication to help with that. If she gains weight and continues to be herself over the next two weeks, than the outcome might look good. if not...then the vet said she probably has a few months left to live. The last few days were hard for us, but we are doing better now...and are just trying to make life really good for her. She is getting so spoiled. of course she loves that!

here are some pics of Luke and Shay over the past few months. I will be getting more soon because I dont have many of them together over the past couple of months.

We hope everyone has had a great weekend. We will talk to you all later!
