4 nurses and a mommy...

Had to hold down a 2.5 year old today at the doctor's office. He freaked out about getting his stitches taken out. Poor thing, I know that these things are going to happen, and that he is learning what it's like to feel new feelings now, but I am really hating the fact he knows what it's like now to be sooooooo scared. Poor thing. But that's life. And we are just trying to tell him he is so courageous and brave to be so scared and get his boo boo taken care of. Just down right breaks my heart.

But seriously after all 5 of us held him down and he got all 3 of them removed, was bandaged up (because they bled because of a scab that grew over the stitches...geeze...do you know how hard I tried to clean those things so that wouldn't happen?!?!), he jumped up on the table and exclaimed, "ALL DONE BOO BOO!!!!" everyone just laughed and then he got a green popcicle. Which of course made everything that just happened seem like it didn't just happen. Oh, and he got to pick a sticker. He thought that was just so cool. I know they are a peditrician's office and they handle kids all day, but it was so nice to see how they made such a big deal out of what he just did and reward him like that. They really made a scary visit turn into an okay one.

So, our first adventure with stitches is practically over. These 5 days flew by and he handled it like a champ. Way to go Luke!

WTG Brave boy Luke!
I'm glad your doctors office helped make it the least traumatic possible for him.
