He's all boy....

Saturday morning, Brandon and I were getting ready for the day. We had a busy day ahead of us. While I was in the shower, Luke and daddy were upstairs. I guess Luke was so enthralled with talking to his stuffed Mickey Mouse, that he missed the step as he was going up the stairs in his room and smacked his chin on the stair. Pretty much, he needed to get stitches.

So we got dressed as fast as we could, slapped a band aid on his little chin to keep the blood from going everywhere, and headed to the emergency room. He was totally fine up until they called us back and they asked him to step on the scale. Poor thing was so scared of everything, that he threw a pretty bad tantrum the whole time we were there. I guess tantrum isn't the right word. He was just so scared and it was so sad to see him feel so scared and not know what to do.

They ended up having to strap him down to one of those boards with the Velcro to hold him down to sew his chin up. And that was probably the hardest thing we have had to do was watch him be strapped down. I don't think I will ever ever ever forget the look in his sweet brown eyes as he was trying to look at me while they were stitching him up. Brings tears to my eyes just thinking about it!

But after it was all over, he was completely fine. He calmed down and was ready to head out of there real quick. So, needless to say we had our first of probably more trips to the ER this weekend. Especially with having another boy on the way too.

I have some pictures of his boo boo. But my computer with all the pictures is acting funny, so I will have to update this post with pictures later on when I have more time....and well, energy.

We have to go back on Thursday to have them removed, so hopefully that trip goes better than the first!

Poor guy! I wouldn't have been able to sit and watch him be strapped down. I always wondered how they did that. Now I'm going to be even more paranoid about them this summer. Hope he's doing good!

Oh that brings back horrible memories of when my little men got stitches....all 3 of them have had them...*sigh*...You are right, it was the look in their eyes pleading to stop that had me in an absoloute mess! Awful experiece! I'm sorry you and Luke had to go through that too.
